Rev. George Augustus Bright Smith        1827-1882 George was born about 1827, the son of Bright Smith and Mary Ann Nash, in London. He married Lydia Adelina Ellen Williams. He matriculated at Wadham College, Oxford, on May 28, 1845. He got his BA in 1849 and his MA not until 1871. Curate  of  Foston,  Yorks,  1850-51;  Crambe,  Yorks  (near Malton) 1851-61; and Huttons Ambo, Yorks, 1861-71. Late in life, he had the family name changed to Bright-Smith. He lived at Buscot Lodge, Warwick Road, Maida Hill, then at Oakfield, Worcester. He owned the British Coffee House, at 27 Cockspur Street, London, and also land at Edgeware and at Buscot Lodge, Middlesex. Lydia Adelina Ellen Williams                   1827-1874 Lydia was born on 30 December 1827, the daughter of Benjamin Bacon Williams and Mary Toldervy Oatley, in Paris, France. The Times, Wednesday, Mar 11, 1874                      DEATHS   On the 9th inst., at Buscot Lodge, Maida Hill, W., of inflammation of the lungs, Lydia Adelina Ellen, the beloved wife of the Rev. G. A. Bright Smith.

MIDDLESEX   14 April 1874                         Probate BRIGHT SMITH, Lydia Adelina Ellen - Administration (with the Will) of all and singular, the effects of Lydia Adelina Ellen Bright-Smith, (Wife of the Reverend George Augustus Bright-Smith, Clerk) late of Buscot Lodge, Maida Hill, in the County of Middlesex, who died 9 March 1874, at Buscot Lodge, was granted at the Principal Registry, to the said Reverend George Augustus Bright-Smith, of Buscot Lodge, and George Bannatyne Wymer of the Junior United Service Club, a Captain in the Royal Artillery, the Executors.   Effects under £6,000.   Resworn January 1875 under £5,000.

The Times, Saturday, Sep 30, 1882                         DEATHS   On the 24th Sept., suddenly, after a long illness, at Oakfield, Near Worcester, the Rev. George Augustus Bright-Smith, M.A., formerly Vicar of Huttons Ambo, Yorkshire, eldest son of the late Bright Smith, Esq., of Hove, Sussex, dearly loved, and deeply mourned.

LICHFIELD   6 November 1882                         Probate BRIGHT SMITH, The Reverend George Augustus - The Will with a Codicil of the Reverend George Augustus Bright-Smith, heretofor George Augustus Smith,, formerly of Buscot Lodge, Warwick-road, Maida Vale, in the County of Middlesex, but late of Oakfield near Worcester, in the County of Worcester, Clerk, who died 24 September 1882, at Oakfield, was proved at the Principal Registry, by Arthur Augustus Whitelocke Bright Bright-Smith, of Oakfield, the son, and George Bannatyne Wymer of Itchen Abbas near Alresford, in the County of Southampton, Esquires, the Executors.   Personal Estate £17,023 16s. 4d.
