OBITUARY
The death is announced of Mr. Richard Pryce Harrison, C.S.I., which occurred on the 18th inst., at 139 Portsdown Road. Born at Welshpool in June, 1816, he was appointed to the Bengal Civil Service from Halleybury in 1834, became Civil and Sessions Judge of Moorshedabad in 1856, and of Hooghly in 1857; Accountant to the Governmant of Bengal in 1858, and to the Government of Madras in 1859, Accountant-General and Auditor-General of India, and First Member of Board of Audit in 1861, and Comptroller-General of Account for India in 1864. He resigned in 1867. He was created a Companion of the Star of India in 1870. He married in 1842 Harriette, eldest daughter of Surgeon George Nicholas Cheke of the Bengal Medical Service.
