Sir Edward Bosc Sladen                     1830-1890
Edward was born on 20 November 1830, the son of Dr. Ramsey Sladen and Emma Bosc, at Madras, India. He married Sophia Catherine Harrison in 1861. She died in 1865, and in 1880 he married, secondly, Katherine Jane the daughter of Robert Russell Carew of Carpenders Park, Hertfordshire. On 26 November 1886 Edward was knighted.
