Henry Thompson                               1863-1892
Henry Thompson was born 14 November 1863, the son of Robert Thompson and Sarah Barbar. Henry is also referred to as Harry, the names appear interchangeable. He married Margaret Dove. He traveled to the United States, and his first child Harry Nash appears to have been born in the State of Illinois. He was a partner in the firm of Messrs. Low, Thompson, and Co., provision merchants. In early 1892, two weeks after the birth of his second son, George, his life came to a terrible end, in a dramatic attempted murder, and suicide, involving a young barmaid of 21. He died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head on 11 February 1892.
