THE HOTEL TRAGEDY
FUNERAL OF MR. THOMPSON
A representative of the Mercury was informed last night that Miss Gelleburn, who is an inmate of the Northern Hospital, was progressing favourably towards recovery. The prompt operation by which the bullet was removed from her head has, in all probability, been the means of saving her life, and it is confidently believed that in a few days she will be out of danger. Several of Miss Gelleburn's friends called at the institution yesterday to inquire after her condition.
The funeral of Mr. Harry Thompson, of the firm of Messrs. Low, Thompson, and Co. - the circumstances of whose death are so well known - took place yesterday afternoon at Anfield Cemetery, where the burial service was read by the Rev. Mr. Passfield. The procession left the Northern Hospital at four o'clock, and in the carriage immediatly following the hearse were Mr. R. C. Thompson, and Mr. V. Thompson (brothers of the deceased), Mr. George Tagg, of London, Mr. Alexander Low, (deceased's partner), and Dr. Limrick, of Waterloo. Amongst those who assembled at the cemetery were Messrs. Thomas Bird, F. W. Wood, D. Booth, Ewin Windsor, J. Townsend, W. Norris (representing Messrs. Hugh Nelson and Co.), Thomas A. Hanmer, E. Bragg, H. M'Dade, and Henry Hawley. There also attended the following employees of the deceased's firm: - Messrs. H. B. Henderson, F. W. Maddocks, H. O'Niell, W. Ross, and J. Maxwell. Messrs. Larkin and Co. of Lime-street had charge of the funeral arrangements.
