Andrew John Nash                           1807-1888
Andrew was born on 30 April 1807, the son of George Augustus Nash and Lydia Watson, at Cornhill, London. He married his first cousin, Elizabeth Nash.
Andrew matriculated at St John's, Oxford, on September 20, 1825; he was admitted a fellow commoner at Downing, Cambridge (matriculated Michaelmas 1830), and got his M.A. in 1836.
After the marriage they lived at Bray and Hildreb, Berkshire. On 31 December 1863 he took a 14-year lease on
Densworth House, a three-storied edifice the main part of which was late 18th century, and situated three miles north of Chichester, on the Funtington Road, from Mary and Emily Winter who shortly afterwards sold it to John James Johnson. In 1866 he bought it from Johnson for £3,475, including the garden and 12 acres.
Elizabeth continued to live there for a while after Andrew's death.
