Michael Sydney Cedric Brudenell-Bruce   1926-1974
Michael was born 31 March 1926, the son of Cedric Brudenell-Bruce, 7th Marquess of Ailesbury styled Viscount Savernake, and, Joan Houlton Salter.
He attended Eton College before serving in the Royal Horse Guards. He received an emergency commission as a second lieutenant on 12 August 1945, only three weeks prior to the end of the Second World War. He was promoted to lieutenant on 1 September 1946,[2] and entered the reserves with the same rank on 1 September 1949, with the honorary rank of captain. He relinquished his reserve commission on 1 July 1959, retaining the honorary rank of captain. He became a member of the London
Stock Exchange in 1954. He joined the stockbrokers Bragg, Stockdale, Hall & Co, founded in 1819, in the City of London, which merged with Fiske & Co in 1975 and he became a partner of Fiske. He became a director of Fiske & Co when it became a limited company, and remained so when it went public as Fiske plc. He succeeded his father as 8th Marquess on the latter's death on 15 July 1974. The family seat is Tottenham House, in Savernake Forest, Wiltshire, but they ceased to live there in 1946 when it became Hawtreys school. The Marquess owned Avebury Manor, also in Wiltshire, from 1976 to 1981.

Edwina was born on 13 March 1933, the younger daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Ernest Edward de Winton Wills, 4th Baronet of Hazelwood, Laird of Meggernie Castle, and Captain of The Royal Guard of Balmoral Castle, and wife Sylvia Margaret Ogden.

Major Christopher Leslie Leo Bonn           1928-2008         (2nd Husband)
Christopher Leslie Leo Bonn (Major, Welsh Guards), Freeman of The City of London. He is 9th in line of descent from HM King Charles II, and 2nd cousin to HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, the future HRH The Princess Consort.
Christopher was born on 18 September 1928, the son of Major Walter Basil Louis Bonn and Lena Theodora Davidson of Inchmarlo, at 22 Upper Brook Street, Mayfair, London. His boyhood home was Common Hill House, Cricklade, which was purchased in 1930's, and later Marsden Manor. He attended Abbotsford RC preparatory school. Christopher attended Eton College, and was President of The Eton Society. He joined the Welsh Guards, rising to Major, after graduating from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He married Edwina Sylvia de Winton Wills, formerly wife of Viscount Savernake, later Earl of Cardigan, now (8th) Marquess of Ailesbury. They initially lived at 7 Neville Terrace.
Christopher was an Extra Equerry to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, KG KT OM GBE PC, (after whom he named his son and heir - Philip). He was an Adjutant of Eton College, a courtier, countryman and accomplished polo player, and Freeman of The City of London.
He was a company director, and had a London house in Chelsea. He lived sometime in Tobago, Kenya, Hong Kong and Penang but retained (1968-2001) a home in Jersey; residing at the 17th Century Manor House of La Maison Marett for some years and afterwards purchasing an 18th Century farm in the rural Parish of St Ouen.
Christopher is an 8th Cousin of Lord Ailesbury (his wife's first   husband),   through   Francis,  Lord  Brudenell,  whose
  daughter, Anne, married His Grace Charles Lennox, 1st Duke of Richmond, KG,the natural son of HM King Charles II, by The Duchess of Portsmouth.

Major Christopher Leslie Leo, of Doverhay House, and Milton Eonan, formerly of Jersey, CI, late of the Welsh Guards, formerly an Extra Equerry to H.R.H. The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, K.G., K.T., O.M., G.B.E.; Adjutant of Eton College, Freeman of the City of London, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers', formerly a member of the Cavalry and Guards Club, and Liaison Officer Emeritus and Honorary Board Member of the Soldiers', Sailors', Marines' and Airman's Club (USA), by special appointment of H.H. Prince Ivan Obolensky, (Chairman), died peacefully at home, 11th December 2008,
and will be much missed by his family and all who knew him. His coffin shall rest, from 4.30 p.m. on Monday 15th December, in The Chapel of Dolours, at the London Oratory, Knightsbridge, and a Funeral Mass (Tridentine Latin Rite) will be celebrated, following Military Honours, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday 16th December, at the Little Oratory. The interment will be private, and will be held the next day, at the Graveyard of Kerrowmore in Glenlyon. A Memorial Service will be held at The Guards Chapel, next spring. Flowers are most welcome. Formerly the Viscountess Savernake (née de Winton-Wills), daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Edward de Winton-Wills, 4th Baronet of Hazelwood, Laird of Meggernie Castle, Scots Guards (commander; Royal Garrison of HM King George VI at Balmoral Castle; 1943) widow of Major Christopher Leslie Leo Bonn, Welsh Guards; a former extra equerry to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; and adjutant, Eton College; dear sister of Venetia and beloved mother of David, Sylvia, Carina, Philip, Camilla, Melissa and Melanie. Funeral to be held at Innerwick Church, Glenlyon (inquiries to Gaulds of Crieff).
  She was the daughter of Lt-Col Sir Ernest Edward DE WINTON WILLS 4th Bt 1903-1983 and Sylvia Marguerite   1901-1946   daughter   of    William   Barker
OGDEN 1866-1906 by his 1896 marriage to Margaret SCOTT 1872-1958. She married 1st 1952 (divorced 1961) Viscount Savernake (now the 8th Marquess of AILESBURY b 1926) and had a son (Earl of Cardigan b 1952, his father's ha) and two daughters. She married 2nd 1963 Maj Christopher Leslie Leo 1928-2008 son of Maj Walter Basil Louis BONN 1885-1973 sometime head of that gentry family of Oalkland, and Leopoldina Theodora 1894-1974, daughter of Col Leslie DAVIDSON CB 1850-1915 scion of that gentry family of Tillychetley & Dess and Lady Theodora KEPPEL DJStJ 1860-1945 daughter of 7th Earl of ALBEMARLE 1832-94 and gt gt aunt of Queen CAMILLA, and had a further son and further three daughters.

Edwina Sylvia Bonn (née de Winton-Wills), who died at Pitlochry, 8 January, 2023, aged 89, was a scion of the Wills baronets, and the first wife of the 7th Marquess of Ailesbury. She was born 13 March, 1933, second daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Ernest Edward de Winton Wills, 4th Baronet (1903-1983), late the Scots Guards, of Meggernie Castle, and his first wife the former Sylvia Margaret Ogden (d 26 Jan 1946); she married 1stly, 17 March, 1952 (div 1961), Michael Sydney Cedric Brudenell-Bruce, then styled Viscount Savernake (born 31 March, 1926) (now the 8th Marquess of Ailesbury), son of the late 7th Marquess (1904-74), and his 1st wife Joan Houlton Salter (d 24 July, 1937); married  2ndly,  1963,   Major Christopher Leslie Leo Bonn,


Welsh Guards (1928-2008), scion of that landed family, sometime Equerry to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, son of Major Walter Basil Louis Bonn (1885-1973), and his wife the former Leopoldina Theodora Davidson (1894-1974), scion of that landed gentry family.

From her first marriage she leaves issue, a son, David, styled Earl of Cardigan (born 12 Nov, 1952), and two daughters, Lady Sylvia Brudenell-Bruce (born 19 June 1954), and Lady Carina Brudenell-Bruce (born 13 Jan 1956), and from her second marriage, a son, Philip (born 9 Feb 1964), and three daughters, Melissa, Camilla and Melanie.
