Walter Wilkins                                     1741-1828
Walter was born on 15 November 1741, the second son of John Wilkins and Sybil Jeffreys, of The Priory, Brecon, Breconshire, Wales.   He served in the Honourable East India Company (HEIC), initially as a writer at Fort William in Bengal in 1767, then by 1768 he was a resident in Lakhipur, then senior merchant or Chief Factor and First Governor of Chittagong in 1771.   He became a member of the HEIC Supreme Council in 1772.   He was MP for Radnor (1796-1828), also a JP and High Sheriff.
