Walter Montgomery Smith Dorrien 1851

Walter was born on 13 June 1851, the son of Robert Algernon Smith Dorrien and Mary Ann Drever, at Berkhamsted, Hertford. He entered Magdelan College, Oxford University, at age 19, on 15 October 1870, earning his B.A. in 1875, and M.A. in 1877. He served in various churches, which included an assignment as Chaplain to the Duke of Buccleuch, at St Mary, Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland, from 1893 to 1899.
