His medical career included

Assistant Surgeon, Royal Navy Hospitals Plymouth and Malta;
Principal Medical Official Pacific S.N.Co.,
Surgical Superintendent British Hospital and Consular Medical Officer, Callao Peru;
and Medical Inspector Board of Trade. He entered the Royal Navy as an Assitant surgeon, on 28 December 1857. Lima. He met and married Emmeline Russell Dartnell, and had several children there, before contracting tuberculosis and moving his family to Plymouth, Devonshire. |
