Thomas George Greenwell                   1894-1967
Thomas was born about 1894, the son of Thomas William Greenwell and Hannah Botterill, at Sunderland, County Durham. He served in the Royal Air Force, was a Member of Parliament 1943-1945, and High Sheriff for Durham County in 1951-1952, and was chairman and managing director of T. W. Greenwell & Co. Ltd.

COL T. G. GREENWELL
  Colonel Thomas George Greenwell, who died on Wednesday at the age of 72, was National Conservative M.P. for Hartlepools from 1943-45 and High Sheriff of Durham County in 1951-52.   A former chairman of the Dry Dock Owners' and Repairers Central Council, he was chairman and managing director of T. W. Greenwell & Co. Ltd., the Sunderland ship repairing company, until his retirement in 1960.
  In the First World War he served in the R.G.A., R.F.C., and R.A.F.   Between the wars he served in the Territorial Army and was made an Honorary Colonel after he had been released from the Army in 1940 to return to the ship repairing industry.
