Second Lieutenant Charles Gordon Mills of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, killed at Bethune on January 25, was the eldest son of Mr. Charles Anthony Mills, of The Manor, Moulsford, Berks. Formerly a member of the Officers Training Corps, he was appointed to the Special Reserve of the Coldstream Guards in August last.

Stewart was born on 2 June 1892 of Richard Charles Thompson and Dorothy Clark. He married Madge G. Mills on 18 July 1917. Stewart became a Captain in the Royal Air Force. Stewart died on 25 November 1966.
