Joseph Andrew Thompson                   1876-1918
Joseph Andrew was born 30 Nov 1876 of Robert Thompson and Georgiana Andrew, at Monkwearmouth. He married his cousin, Laurel Drummond D. Thompson, 27 April 1904, in Sunderland. He died at age 41 in a nursing home in Newcastle upon Tyne, 4 February 1918, and was buried at Mere Knolls Cemetery, Monkwearmouth.

Laurel Drummond Douglas Thompson was born about 1882 of James Elliot Thompson and Isabella Borthwick Douglas. She died on 21 August 1968, at about age 86.

The death occurred in a nursing home in Newcastle, this morning, of Mr. Joseph Andrew Thompson, of East Boldon House, member of the firm of Messers. J. L. Thompson and Sons, Shipbuilders, North Sands, Sunderland. Deceased, who was 41 years of age had been in ill health for some time, was the son of the late Mr. Robert Thompson, Langholm Towers, and Over Dinsdale, near Darlington. He leaves his widow, the daughter of the late Mr. J. E. Thompson of Thornhill Park, Sunderland, and a young son. His funeral fixed for Wednesday first, the interment to be in the Mere Knolls Cemetery, Monkwearmouth.
