John Moore                                           1774-1809           (1st Husband)
I have very little documentation on John. It appears that he was born on 23 January 1774, probably in India, the son of a liason between Commodore John Moore and a Mrs. Elizabeth Sneade. There also appears to be another child, a sister Louisa (1771-1843) of the same parentage. Commodore Moore was born in the US in 1731, he spent his adult years in the navy and in private merchant sea trade with the East India Company, calling both London and Bombay his home. He rose in rank to become Commodore of the Bombay Marine, a fleet of private protection vessels under the flag of the East India Company. John became a captain in the 3rd Dragoon Guards.
