Maj. John Austen                                 1754-
John was born in 1754, the son of Francis Austen and Jane Lennard. He joined the army, rose to the rank of Major, and was stationed in Portugal through most of his career. He married Harriet Hussey. After her early death, John remarried.
Harriet Hussey                                     1766-1811
Harriet was born about 1766, the daughter of William Hussey and Charlotte Twopenny, at Ashford, Kent. She died in 1811.
