Hugh Melville Howard                         1883-1919
Hugh was born on 28 March 1883, the son of Cecil Ralph Howard, 6th Earl of Wicklow and his second wife Fanny Catherine Wingfield, at Shelton Abbey, near Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. He is the half-brother of the 7th Earl of Wicklow, Viscount Wicklow, and Baron Clonmore, of Ireland. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Oxford, where he obtained his M.A.

MARRIAGES

  The marriage of Miss May E. Sands, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Aymar Sands, and the Hon. Hugh Melville Howard, third son of the late Earl of Wicklow, will take place at 3 o'clock in St. Andrew's Dune Church at Southampton.   The guests from the city will go down on a special train.
  Bishop Greer and the Rev. Mr, Treder are to officiate.
  Miss Edith Gilbert Clark, whose engagement to Reginald Fincke, was announced yesterday in The Times, will be Miss Sand's only attendant.

MARRIAGES

  The Hon. Hugh Melville Howard, half brother of the Earl of Wicklow, was married on Saturday, at Southampton, Long Island, U.S.A., to Miss May Sands, only child of Mr. B. Aymar Sands, of New York and Southampton, Long Island.   A great many relations and friends were present at the wedding.   After the reception at the residence of the bride's father, the Hon. Hugh and Mrs. Howard left for their honeymoon.
