William Henry Allison                 1827-1917

Colonel William Henry Allison V.D., J.P., D.L., Teckford Abbey, Newport Pagnell, and Undercliffe Sunderland; was born on 31 October 1827, the son of James Allison and Henrietta Hinde, at Monkwearmouth, County Durham. He was educated at The Grange, Sunderland. William was a Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant for County Durham, Hon. Col. 4th Bn. Durham Light Infantry and Newcastle upon Tyne Royal Engineer Volunteers, and has had the Victoria Decoration since 1889. He married Margaret Clay on 21 September 1852. William was 89 years old when he died on 11 January 1917
