Dr. George Nicholas Cheke                 1831-1869           (1st Husband)
George was born about 1831, the son of Dr. George Nicholas Cheke, and Catherine Earle. George senior was an Assistant Surgeon serving with the Bengal Medical Service in India. Young George received medical training, and was also commissioned an Assistant Surgeon on 20 January 1855. He was admitted to the Bengal Medical Service, and started his service on 5 March 1855, at the Fort William General Hospital. He married Susan Channer in 1867.

Susan was born on 9 October 1844, the daughter of George Girdwood Channer and Susan Kendall, at Allahabad, West Bengal, India.
