  Algernon was born on 22 June 1844, the son of Colonel Francis Seymour Douglas Hamilton and Emma Catherine Frances Coventry, in Richmond, Surrey.
Idonia Charlotte Douglas Hamilton    1845-1910
  Idonia was born on 16 February 1845, the daughter of Captain Douglas Douglas Hamilton and Frances Ann Graves, in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France.   Her father was the younger brother of Francis Seymour Douglas Hamilton.
  She, with her parents and four siblings migrated to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1867.   Her father, Douglas returned to Ireland before 1888 and died there in 1894, leaving his wife Frances Anne and four of their children, who died in Queensland.
