William Adamson                                 1889-1977 William was born on 11 July 1889, the son of John Adamson and Mary Burnop Mail, at Sunderland, County Durham. He married Dorothy Rachel Wilkes. He died on 10 July 1977. Dorothy Rachel Wilkes                         1895-1983 Dorothy was born on 5 May 1895, the only child of Leopold Complin Wilkes, and Rachel Macintosh, at Kimberley, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Her mother died when she was only 2 years old, and her father died two years later. She was sent back to England and spent her youth either at school, or staying with relatives. She was subsequently adopted by her mother's sister Beatrice and her husband William Mercer Wade. I have identified the following children:
