Viginti Tertius Thompson

Norton Manor, Sutton Scotney

The Manor of Norton was recorded as long ago as Saxon times when it was believed to be held, in Edward the Confessor's reign, by Fulchi who was one of the great Saxon thanes. The Manor passed, after the Norman conquest to Bishop Odo of Winchester and thereafter, in the early part of the thirteenth century, from the St Valery family to Walter de Langton, Bishop of Coventry and Lichdfield in 1307. The Manor House is situated on 52 acres and includes it's own lake.

The estate is no longer a residence.
