To his Excellency Major General George Stracey Smith Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief of the Province of New Brunswick ? ? ? The petition of John Huggins: Humbly therewith that your petitioner was born in England, is a British subject and has resided for the last six months at Richibucto and for two and one half years before that in different parts of this Province, and all the time before in England. That the petitioner is a single man of four and twenty year's of age and that one of his brothers is at Richibucto with him, that he expects his father and family (consisting of ten children) out next September, that petitioner never had any land granted to him, that the lot of land which petitioner wishes to be granted to him is situate on the River Saint John in the Parish of Northhampton in the county of York and was included in the Grant to James Broson and sixty six others, and was granted to one William Flood, and contains about two hundred acres, is known by lot number fifty four and is now Wibererne's land, that Flood to whom it was originally granted was drowned about twenty years ago and left no heirs and that Petitioner is of ability and intends forthwith to improve and cultivate it according to the Royal Instructions. That Petitioner has not directly or indirectly bargained or agreed for the sale of Transfer of the said lot of land to any person whomsoever and that should he be so fortunate as to obtain a grant of the said lot, his father and family will upon their arrival in this Province also settle thereon. Here your Petitioner most humbly prays that it will Please Your Excellency to take his case into consideration and order a grant of the said Lot to ? to him and Your Petitioner as is duty bound.Will ever pray ?
