George Henry Kirby                           1876-1960
  George was born in 1876, the son of Alfred Octavius Kirby and Alice Baxendale, in London.
  He was educated at Eton, and Trinity College, Cambridge.   The family then moved to Ceylon, where he became a planter, as was also, his wifes family.   While in Ceylon, he also Served for 9 years in the Ceylon Volunteer Rifles; resigned on leaving Ceylon, and sailed to Sydney, Australia.   When war broke out in 1914, He enlisted in September of that year, and served in the 1st Light Horse Regiment,
embarking from Sydney on 20 October 1914, on board Transport A16 Star Of Victoria.   He saw service in Egypt, Gallipoli, and the Western Front.   He was discharged on 14 October 1918.   The family returned to England, and resided at Woodyates House, Salisbury, Devon.
  At some point in the marriage, he and Elsie separated, and George sailed off to New Zealand.   He first appears in the Wellington Electoral Roll in 1943, as a civil servant.   He remarries after Elsie's death.

Miriam Lavinia Greenwood was born about 1988, based upon age at death. She married Benjamin Percy Lawn in 1908. This marriage ended in divorce. She then married Walter William Bowker in 1924, ending in a divorce in 1929.
