Frederick Lowes Dodds       1897-1948
Frederick was born on 27 August 1897, the son of Robert Dodds and Eliza Dixon, in Fulwell. He married Lillian Wilson in 1923. Frederick, was described as a very kind man, and was well liked, he walked very badly. (The cause unknown.) During the depression in the 30's he was unemployed for many years, after an accident at the Shipyard when his arm   was crushed. During that time he took to repairing peoples shoe's to earn a living, he also raised rabbits (Flemish) which they used for food, he would also give them away at Christmas to other relatives. Frederick died of Cancer in September 1948, at his home at 58 Roker Ave, Sunderland.

Lillian Wilson                        1902-1964
Lillian was born on 25 January 1902, the daughter of William Wilson and Jane Coulson, in Monkwearmouth. During the second world war, She worked in a school lunch program. Lillian was forced to work as a cleaning lady after Frederick's death, as her widow's pension was only 10 Shillings (50 pence) a week. She died in 1964.
