Sir William Curtis                               1804-1870
William was born on 26 August 1804, the son of William Curtis and Mary Ann Lear, at Southgate, London. He was educated at Eton. He attended St. John's, Cambridge. Succeeded his father as 3rd Bart., 16 March 1847. He bought Caynham Court in 1852. Sadly in 1860 His son died, but fortuitously he had married the year before and a son, William, later the 4th Baronet, was born subsequently that year (1859). In 1870 the 3rd Baronet died. Sir William Michael Curtis, 4th Baronet, inherited the Caynham Court estate at the tender age of ten before entering Eton College.
