MAJOR DE WINTON
  Major Walter de Winton, of Maesllwch Castle, Glasbury, Radnorshire, was found dead in bed on Wednesday morning.   He was 67, and had been suffering from heart trouble.   A keen sportsman, he hunted, shot, and fished, and had killed 17 Wye salmon in one day.   He served in the 1st Life Guards and was captain in the 10th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry, in the South African War.   In the late War he served as a D.A.A.G.   He was a J.P. and D.L. for Radnorshire, and was High Sheriff in 1897.   He succeeded his father in 1878, and was a good landlord, being highly esteemed by his tenants and the villagers.   He married Hylda, daughter of General Sir Frederick Marshall, of Broadwater, Surrey; she survives him with a son and a daughter.   His elder son was killed in 1914.
