The Queen has been pleased to grant unto Charles Brown, Major in the Service of the East India Company, Her royal licence and authority, that in compliance with a proviso contained in a codicil annexed to a certian deed of entail, referring to the estate of Wallace Craigie, in the shire of Forfar, in Scotland, he and his issue may bear and use the surname of Constable, in addition to and after that of Brown;
  And to command that the said royal concession and declaration be registered in Her Majesty's College of Arms, otherwise to be void and of none effect.
