| At this point we have a conundrum. There is no record of a marriage between a Thomas Taylor and an Elizabeth Inman. There is no death record for a Thomas Beattie right after the below marriage. Inman is listed as the mother's maiden surname of these children below. After a death of a Thomas Taylor in 1891, an Elizabeth Beattie is free to marry Charles Herbert Dugdale, and bring some of these children along as his step children. Did Thomas Beattie just leave her after the marriage. Did she then just take up with Thomas Taylor and live as his wife, even though her legal name was still Beattie? |
