Thomas was born about 1829, at Whitby, Ontario, Canada, the son of John and Anna Huggins. He married Susan E. Chapin on 28 April 1852. Thomas worked on the railroad, and was in a terrible train accident, and died on 11 May 1855 at Janesville, Wisconsin.

Susan was born 27 July 1837, at Windsor, Vermont, the daughter of Calvin Chapin and Lucy Bishop. She died 13 July 1919, at Orion, Illinois.

Theron was born about 1833 in New York. He married Susan E. Chapin at Janesville, Wisconsin. They moved to Nebraska, then Missouri and about 1873, they moved to Orion, Illinois, and made their home with Susan's sister, Lucinda and Henry Jordan. The marriage with Theron Ward produced seven children. Theron deserted Susan and the children, and about 1882 was declared dead.

Henry had been married to Susan's sister, Lucinda. He married Susan Huggins Ward on 19 June 1884. After Henry's death, Susan made her home in later years with a spinster daughter, Emma Ward.
