FUNERALS


Lord Winterstoke

   The funeral of Lord Winterstoke took place yesterday at Blagdon, Somerset, and at the same time a memorial service was held in the Cathedral, Bristol.

   The funeral was carried out with great simplicity. The chief mourners were:         (Names listed for convenience)

    There were also present Viscount Churchill, Sir Charles Inglis and Colonel Liewellyn, Lord Southwark, and the directors of the Imperial Tobacco Company, of which most of the branches were represented. There were also representatives of Messrs. W. D. and H. O. Wills, the Wells Liberal Association, of which Lord Winterstoke was President, the Bristol Fine Arts Academy, and the Bristol Colston Hall Company.
    The service was conducted by the Bishop of Bristol and Cannon T. S. Holmes.

Sir Isambard Owen and other representatives of the University of Bristol (of which Lord Winterstoke was Pro-Chancellor), The Royal Infirmary, Bristol, The General Hospital, Bristol, the Incorporated Chamber of Commerce and Shipping.
Mansfield College, Oxford, the Bristol Charity Trustees, Toronto University, and various local organizations, religious, political, educational, and philanthropic, with which Lord Winterstoke was associated. The Dean and the Archdeacon of Bristol and Cannon Everingham conducted the service.
