The Will of Mary Theresa Thompson (Nattrass) 1920 - 1980 Dated 13 Mar 1980

This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Theresa Thompson, of Kirby Sigston Manor, Northallerton, in the County of York, Widow.
  1. I APPOINT Cyril Blythe Barker of 6 Tempest Road, Seaham, in the County of Durham, Solicitor, and Dominic Thomas Scarre Rutter, of 1 Blackwell Lane, Darlington, in the said County of Durham (hereinafter called "my trustees") to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will.

  2. I GIVE the sum of One hundred pounds, free of duty, to each of the following; my niece Helen Elizabeth Nattrass, my nephew James Ernest Natrass, my nephew David Henderson Nattrass, my Niece Joanna Maria Nattrass, my godson Terrance Anthony Fleming, and my godson David Charles Coatsworth.

  3. I BEQUEATH unto the said Helen Elizabeth Natrass, my gold bar brooch with fox's head.

  4. I GIVE all my household furniture, plate, plated articles, linen, china, books, pictures, prints, watches, other jewellery, clothing, and other articles of household, domestic or personal use or ornament to such of my daughters as shall survive me, and if more than one, in equal shares, to be divided amongst them. In case of dispute in such manner as my trustees in their absolute discretion shall think fit.

  5. I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my real and the residue of my personal estate, whatsoever and wheresoever unto my trustees upon trust, to sell, call in, and convert into money, the same with power to postpone such sale, calling in, and conversion for such period as my trustees without being liable to account, may think proper, and out of the moneys to arise from such sale, calling in, and conversion, and out of my ready money to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts, and to stand possessed of the residue of such moneys and the investments, for the time being representing the same including any property for the time being remaining unconverted (hereinafter called "my residuary estate"), upon trust for such of my daughters as shall survive me, and if more than one in equal shares absolutely, Provided always that if any of my said daughters shall die in my lifetime leaving issue who shall survive me, and attain the age of eighteen years, such issue shall take, and if more than one equally between them, the share of my residuary estate which his or her, or their parent would have taken, if such parent had survived me.

  6. I DECLARE that money liable to be invested under the trusts of this my Will, may be invested in or upon any stocks, funds, or securities of or guaranteed by the Government of the United Kingdom, or in or upon the stocks, bonds, shares, or securities, of any public company, or any Municipal Corporation, or Public Body in the United Kingdom, or any Permanent Building Society registered in the United Kingdom, or in the purchase or upon mortgage of real or leasehold property in England, so that any property purchased as aforesaid shall be subject to the trusts and provisions of this my Will as if the same had formed part of my estate at my death, And I Declare and Direct that money to be advanced on any real security, whether land or building, may be any amount, not exceeding three-fourths part of the apparent value thereof.

  7. ANY Executor or Trustee for the time being hereof being a Solicitor or Accountant or other person engaged in any profession or business, shall be entitled to charge and be paid all usual professional and other charges for business done by him or his firm in connection with the proving hereof or the execution of the trusts hereof whether in the ordinary course of his profession or business or not and including business which an Executor or Trustee not being engaged in any profession or business could have transacted personally.

  8. I HEREBY REVOKE all former wills or testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me.

On the 30th day of April 1980 Probate of this will, was granted at Newcastle upon Tyne to Cyril Blythe Barker, of 6 Tempest Road, Seaham, County Durham, and Dominic Thomas Scarre Rutter, of 1 Blackwell Lane, Darlington, County Durham, the executors.
