The Will of John Wyllie Thompson 1886 - 1948         Dated 29 August 1969

On this twenty ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty seven, I John Wyllie Thompson, of 79 Westbourne Terrace, London W.2., and 81 Bishopsgate, London E. C. 2. , Shipowner, HEREBY REVOKE all Wills, Codicils, and Testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me, and DECLARE this to be my last WILL.

  1. I APPOINT my wife NORAH THOMPSON, my son RICHARD THOMPSON, and my brother STANLEY MILLER THOMPSON (hereinafter referred to as "my trustees".) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my will.

  2. I BEQUEATH to my said son my gold watch, and to my said wife, all the remainder of my personal chattels, and I declare that my expression "personal chattels" as used herein shall have the meaning assigned to it in the Stationary Will Forms 1925.

  3. I BEQUEATH to my said wife, the sum of five hundred pounds, to be paid to her as soon as possible after my death.

  4. I DECLARE that all legacies bequeathed by this my will, or any codicil, shall be paid free of any death duties which wherein presently presumptively or prospectively payable shall be paid out of my residuary estate.

  5. I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my real property, wheresoever situate, and all the residue of my personal property, whatsoever and wheresoever, not hereby, or by any codicil hereto otherwise disposed of, including as well any personal property over which I may have any general power of appointment, or disposition by will unto my trustees upon Administration Trusts and I DECLARE that FORM 8 of The Stationary WILL FORMS 1925, shall be deemed to be incorporated into this my Will, and shall apply to my Residuary Estate.

  6. SUBJECT TO the Administration Trusts hereinbefore by reference declared, my trustees shall hold my Residuary Estate, and the investments for the time being representing the same In Trust, to pay the income thereof to my said wife during her life, and from and after her death, to hold the same for my said son Richard absolutely, provided that should he predecease me, leaving issue living at my death, then such issue shall take, if more than one, equally between them, the said residuary fund which he would have taken, had he survived me and attained a vested interest.

  7. I DECLARE that any capital monies available to be invested, may be invested in such stocks, funds, property, and investments as my Trustees in their absolute discretion, and without responsibility for loss, may think fit.

On the 15th day of May 1948 Probate of this will was granted to Norah Thompson of 79 Westbourne Terrace, aforesaid, now in the relict, and Richard Thompson, of 79 Westbourne Terrace, aforesaid, Oil Technologist, son of deceased, both of the executors, named in the said will.
