The Will of Isabella Borthwick Thompson 1849 - 1920         Dated 18 June 1919

This is the last Will and Testament of me, Isabella Borthwick Thompson of Thornhill Park, in the County Borough of Sunderland, Widow, made the eighteenth day of June one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

I hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary dispositions made by me , and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

I appoint my son-in-law William Henry Bell, of, Sunderland, Solicitor (hereinafter called my trustee) sole Executor of this my Will.

I give my large silver teapot, cream jug, and sugar basin, and my teaspoons with twisted handles, and my bed linen and towels to my daughter Maud Borthwick Boning.

I give my shares in Robert Deuchar Limited to my daughter Kathleen Isobel Bell.

I give to each of my daughters, Maud Borthwick Boning, Laurel Drummond Douglas Thompson, and Olive Barber Grischotti, a legacy of one hundred pounds.

I give my ivories in my drawing room case and two old Hepplewhite chairs to the said William Henry Bell.

I give devise and bequeath all my real estate, and all my personal estate no hereby otherwise disposed of unto my Trustee, Upon Trust, to sell and convert the same into money, and to stand possessed of the proceeds of such sale and conversion after payment of my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, and the said legacies, and all Estate and Legacy duties, payable under this my Will, In Trust to pay and divide the same as to two thirds thereof to my son Robert Thompson absolutely, and as to the remaining one third thereof to my said daughter Kathleen Isobel Bell absolutely.

Signed by the said Isabella Borthwick Thompson, the Testatrix, as and for her last Will and Testament, in the presence of us both, being present at the same time, who at her request, in her sight and presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses:

On the 24th day of March 1920 Probate of this will was granted at Durham to William Henry Bell, the sole Executor.
