SERVICES FOR POPULAR STUDENT TO BE TUESDAY
Funeral services for Donna Raye Darby, 17, who died Sunday of a blood clot following an emergency operation at Carlsbad hospital will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Miss Darby, who was born in Hernando, Miss., was a popular member of the senior class at Carlsbad high school. She was a member of the Student Council, the National Honor Society, secretary of the Driver Control Board, Girls Athletic Association, the "Dames" Club and a delegate to Girls State last year.
She was also a member of the Methodist Youth Fellowship and taught Sunday School in the primary department of the Hillcrest Methodist church.
Services will be read by the Rev. R.R. Reed at the Hillcrest Methodist Church with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
Schoolmates of Miss Darby, Wayne Scott, Wayne Gosnell, Ronnie Mullinex, Paul Bridges, Bill Lewis and Jerry Everage, will set as pallbearers.
Besides her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Darby, Jr., she is survived by one sister, Ellen, 5.
The Carpenter Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
