Relph Middlemost                           1867-1930
Relph was born on 12 July 1867, the son of William Robert Middlemost and Alice Bradwell, at West Hill, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. He was a Merchant and a partner in the firm Chas Exley & Co. During the Second Anglo-Boer War [1899-1902], he served for 5 months in the 42nd Company, Army Service Corps, that was a supply column to the 82nd Battalion Royal Horse Artillery. His home in Johannesburg was looted during this War so he applied for compensation to the British Colonial Office on the 26th Sept 1902 for an amount of 165 Pounds 4 shillings and sixpence. He was awarded 127 pounds.
