Peter Lockwood Smith-Dorrien              1907-1946
  Peter was born about 1907, the son of Horace Lockwood Smith Dorrien and Olive Crofton Schneider.   He was educated at Harrow, where he was in the head master's house, and left school in 1925.   In the war he served with a Territorial commission in The Sherwood Foresters, of which regiment his father had been colonel, before being promoted acting colonel in June, 1943. and temporary colonel six months later.   In April, 1944 he was gazetted brigadier.   He was serving in British controlled Palestine as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, when he was killed in a terrorist bombing..

  The marriage took place at Holy Trinity, Sloane-street, yesterday of Mr. Peter Lockwood Smith-Dorrien, second son of the late General Sir Horace Smith-Dorrien and Lady Smith-Dorrien, of Le Bocage, Dinard, France, and Miss Bridget Elvira Liddell, only daughter of Sir Frederick and Lady Liddell, of 9, Culford-gardens, S.W.   The Bishop of Oxford officiated, assisted by the Rev. C. Cheshire and the Rev. Dallas Innes.
  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of white and silver lamé with a train of the same material falling from the waist.   Her long tulle veil had a narrow edging of silver and was held in place by a crystal wreath, and she carried a bouquet of camellias.
  The bride was attended by a page, Master Nigel Livingstone-Learmonth, by one little girl, Miss Wanda Livingstone-Learmonth, and by five grown-up bridesmaids, Miss Barbara Liddell, Miss Barbara James, Miss Elizabeth Capel-Cure, Miss Joan Mortimer, and Miss Yvonne Marling,   The page wore a Romney Suit of parchment-coloured satin, and the bridesmaids wore parchment spotted net dresses with puffed sleeves and pale-green sashes and shoes.   They had wreaths of green leaves with camellias at the back and wore crystal necklaces.   The Hon. David Rhys was best man.
  A reception was held after the marriage at 21, Belgrave-square.

The marriage ended in a divorce in 1937
Bridget married Lewis Civval in 1939, and later, a Mr. Blandy. She died in 1998 Nov West Surrey C5B 236. .
