Leopold Complin Wilkes                 1862-1899
Leopold was born on 9 April 1862, the son of John and Elizabeth L. Wilkes, at St. Mary, Nottingham. He married Rachel Macintosh on 12 September 1893. He died at age 37, on 10 May 1899, at Kimberley, South Africa. After the untimely death of both parents, Dorothy Rachel was returned to England to live with relatives, and was ultimately adopted by her Aunt Beatrice.

Rachel was born on 27 January 1864, the daughter of Alexander Macintosh and Ann Hemington, at Cambridge. She died at age 33, on 3 December 1897, at Kimberly, South Africa.
