| John was born about 1832, the son of Henry B. Pearson and Mary Coverley, at West Ayton, near Pickering, Yorkshire. Attended St. Catherine's, Cambridge, and earned his bachelor's degree in 1858, and was subsequently ordained a deacon, at Oxford. He was ordained a priest at Lichfield in | 1863. Rev.
