SIR JAMES ERSKIN
  Sir James Malcolm Monteith Erskine. Conservative M.P. for the St. George's Division of Westminster from 1921 to 1929, died at his home in Eccleston Square, S.W.1, yesterday, at the age of 81.   A grandson of Sir David Erskine, Bt., of Cambo, Fife, he was educated at Wellington College.   In 1898 he married Cicely, daughter of the Rev. C. P. Quicke, and had four sons and a daughter.   He twice defeated Unionist candidates at St. George's Westminster, as an Independent, but was later returned as the official Unionist candidate.   In 1929 he was created a knight.

ERSKINE - On 2nd August 1969, at 2 Monmouth Road W.2, Cicely Grace, widow of Sir James Monteith Erskine, M.P., J.P., in her 96th year. Beloved mother. She left her body for medical research. Memorial Service on Friday August 8th, at 11:15 a.m., at St. Matthew's Church, St Petersburgh Place, W.2.
