James Dryden Chrisp                           1890-1964
James was born on 29 November 1889, the son of John Chrisp and Margaret Scott, at Alnwick, Northumberland. Occupation ranged from labourer at marriage to stonebreaker, in 1910, to shifter in a coal mine in 1913. He briefly served in the Royal Artillery in WW1 but not for very long as he joined the Police force in 1915. He was a Police Officer from 22 Feb 1915 to 13 August 1944. After leaving the Police Force in 1944, he worked as Commissionaire at the Sunderland Forge. He died in Sunderland, of carcinoma of stomach, at age 74.
Muriel Frances Edwards                      1888-1956
Muriel was born on 15 October 1888, the daughter of Henry William Edwards and Frances Marshall, at South Shields, County Durham. Their first daughter, Muriel died at the age of 19, in Sunderland, of enteric fever (which is another name for Typhoid, as there was an epidemic in the Sunderland area at the time). At the time, the family lived at 8 Cedric Crescent and Muriel was working as a shop assistant at Woolworths.
