Funeral Services
Funeral services over the remains of Betsy S. Long, wife of the late J. V. Long, will be held in the Thirteenth Ward assembly rooms at 11 a.m. today.   Friends of the deceased are respectively invited to attend.
Mrs. Long was an old resident of this city and a faithful Latter Day Saint.   Her connection with the church dates from 1852.   She was a pioneer in the art and embroidery line in the territory, and her business experience covers a period of seventeen years.   She was a woman of noble traits of character, generous and sympathetic in her nature
and was beloved by all who knew her.   Her demise leaves a void in the hearts of a host of relatives and friends who deeply mourn her loss.   Mrs. Long recently married James Burnett, and to him the blow is doubly painful, he having buried his former wife but a short time ago.   She also leaves one son, J. V. Long, his wife and two grandchildren, to whom the affliction is especially hard.   May they all take consolation in the hope of a glorious resurrection and in the knowledge that their loss is her gain.   Requiescat in pace.
