John Huggins

To HIS Excellency Peregrine Maitland H.C.B.
Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Upper Canada and Major General Commanding his Majesties forces therein

The petition of John Huggins of the township of York Preceptor

Humbly showeth
That your petitioner is a native of Cumberland in England that he had resided in the province about eight months; that he is desirous to become a settler; that he has taken the oath of allegiance required by law; that he has never received any land or order for land from the Province
Wherefore your petitioner prays that your Excellency may be pleased to grant him one hundred acres of land paying fees under the present regulations

And petitioner will ever pray

John Huggins
