OBITUARY Mr. H. W. Schneider, of Bells Field, Windermere, and Oaklea, Barrow, died last night after an illness of three months. The deceased, who was in his 68th year, was one of the original members of the Barrow Town Council, and has served on the council ever since. He was for many years a director of the Barrow Shipbuilding and Barrow Steel Works, the latter having been started by him. He had also large interests in the iron mines of Dalston and district. He was at one time member for Norwich, and unsuccessfully contested Barrow in 1885.
