Garth Thomas Wheelan                   1942-1998

Garth was born on 19 October 1942, the son of Thomas Christopher Wheelan and Kathleen Mary Mason, at Liverpool, Lancashire. He married Lesley Frances Bowen. Garth was a Structural and Civil Engineer by profession. He initiated subsidence insurance in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was also an accomplished toastmaster and actor. He was also a SCUBA diving instructor and ran his own diving school. He did a lot of charity work and was an extremely charismatic man and well loved by all. He did a lot of research on ship wrecks and we spent time together as a family diving on the wrecks in the Cape............and finding treasure!!! Lesley Frances Bowen                    1943- Lesley was born on 17 September 1943, the daughter of Francis Cecil Bowen and Violet May Millward, in Lancashire.
