FALLEN OFFICERS

  Second Lieutenant Arthur Hadden, 53rd Sikhs, who was killed on March 8 in Mesopetania, aged 23, was the second son of Mr. Frank J. Hadden and of Mrs. Hadden, of Hunugalla, Elkadua, Ceylon.   He was wounded during the operations in the Persian Gulf in January last.

FALLEN OFFICERS

  Lieutenant Frank J. Hadden, Remount Squadron, Egypt, died of pnemonia at Giza Hospital, Cairo, on May 5.   He was born in 1861, and educated at Rugby, and was for many years tea-planting in Ceylon.   His name was well known in connexion with racing and polo and all sports.   He obtained a commission in the Remounts in July, 1915, and has been working out in Egypt since that date.   His second son, Second Lieutenant Arthur Hadden, 53rd Sikhs, was killed on March 8.

Hadden, of Hunugalla, Ceylon, and of Mrs. Hadden, of 17 Empire House, Thurloe-place, S.W., and Caroline Mary (Carol), younger daughter of Charles Farquhar, Indian Police (Retired), and Mrs. Farquhar, of Craiglarach, Aboyne.

Note: Jack died before the planned marriage.

  HADDEN - On April 2, 1928, killed while flying on active duty at Colchester, Flying Officer Jack Hadden, The Black Watch, attached No. 2 (Army Co-operation) Squadron, Manston, youngest son of the late Frank J. Hadden, of Hunugalla, Ceylon, and of Mrs. Hadden, 17 Empire House, Thurloe-place, S.W., aged 26 years.   Funeral at Colchester, 11:30 (to-day) Thursday.
