Edward George Wace                           1841-1889
  Edward was born on 31 March 1841, the son of Richard Henry Wace and Eulielia Gray, at Goring, Oxfordshire.   He was educated at Marlborough.
  He was then Offered a direct commission in the East India Company's Indian Army in 1856, and was trained in the Company's Addiscombe Military Academy, graduating in May 1857.   He was Posted to India in July 1857, for training and Duty with the 88th Connaught Rangers.   He was commissioned a Lieut. in the 66th Gurkah Light Infantry, after a brief assignment with the 93rd Highlanders.   Two years later he was transferred to the 33rd Native Infantry, then to the 14th Ferozepoor Sikhs in 1861.
  In 1862 he was selected for civil employ by the Lt. Governor of the Punjab, Sir Donald Mcleod, and appointed adjutant, and assigned to the Bengal Staff Corps. in the Jhang District, in 1863.   He was Appointed Settlement Officer in Hazarah District Northern Punjab in 1868, and promoted to Captain in 1869.   In 1874 he was transferred to the Jhelum District, where he was appointed Deputy District Commissioner.   He was promoted to Major in 1877, and appointed Settlement Commissioner in 1881.   He was promoted to Lieut.-Colonel in 1883.   In 1887 he was promoted to full Colonel and Appointed Financial Commissioner of Punjab.

Eveline was born on 5 December 1844, the daughter of William Edward Blyth and Charlotte Matilda Chamberlain, in India.
