David Russell                                 1776-
  David was born about 1776, in Barony, Lanark, Scotland.
  He graduated from Glasgow University and became a parish teacher.   All told, he spent 57 years in the clergy.   He first moved to the Colinsburgh Relief Church near Kirkcaldy around 1812, then shortly after that to another Relief church in Hawick, and some years after that to Errol in Perthshire.   He first married Agnes Clark Scott, in Glasgow.   They had one child, and she died soon thereafter.   David remarried to Ann Titterton in 1812.
