Sir Arthur Chichester (8th Baronet of Raleigh).
Arthur was born on 4 October 1822, at Sherwell, Devonshire. He first married Mary Nicholetts. After her death, he married Rosalie Amelia Chamberlayne, who was widowed upon the early death of her first husband, Sir Alexander Palmer Bruce Chichester.

OBITUARY Sir Arthur Chichester, eighth baronet, died late on Wednesday night at his residence, Youlston, near Barnstaple. He was born in 1822, was educated at Eton, and joined the 7th Hussars, attaining the rank of captain. He succeeded his father in the baronetcy in 1842, and married, first, in 1847, Mary, daughter of the late Mr. John Nicholetts, of South Petherton, Somerset (she died in 1879), and , secondly, in 1883, Rosalie Amelia, widow of Sir Alexander Palmer Bruce Chichester, second and last baronet of Arlington-court, Devonshire. Sir Arthur Chichester was a D.L. and J.P. for Devon, and was colonel commandant of the Royal North Devon Yeomanry from 1862 to 1889, when he became honorary colonel of the regiment. His eldest son died a few months ago, and the baronetcy passed to Captain Edward Chichester, R.N., who is in command of the Immortalite, cruiser, on the China Station. Captain Chichester was born in 1849, and obtained his commission as sub-lieutenant in 1869. He rendered distinguished services as transport officer in the Transvaal and in Egypt, and later in connexion with sea fisheries. He married, in 1860, Emma, daughter of the late Commander R. C. Whyte, R.N., and has issue

LADY CHICHESTER Rosalie Amelia, Lady Chichester, of Arlington Court, North Devon, died suddenly on Saturday at her summer residence at Woolacombe, near Ilfracombe. She had been ill for some time.
Lady Chichester was a daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Chamberlayne, of Cranbury-park, Southampton, and a sister of Mr. Tankerville Chamberlayne, of Cranbury-park, who formerly represented Southampton in the House of Commons. She married, first, in 1866 (sic), the late Sir Alexander Palmer Btuce Chichester, second and last baronet, of Arlington Court, who died in 1881, leaving a daughter, Rosalie Caroline, by the marriage; and secondly, in 1883, as his second wife, Sir Arthur Chichester, eighth baronet of Raleigh (father of the late Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Chichester), who died in 1898. She was about 64 years of age. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at Woking, where her first husband, Sir A. P. Bruce Chichester, was buried.
