Sir Frank Nicholson                            1875-1952
Frank was born about 1875, the son of Henry Nicholson and Annie Fox Williams, at Sunderland, County Durham. Frank was an accountant, and joined the Vaux company in 1898 as a manager and secretary. Two years later, he married Amy Vaux. He became a director in 1919. His business abilities saw Vaux expand and in 1927, he arranged an amalgamation with North East Breweries Ltd. creating the North East's second largest brewers. The new company was called Vaux and Associated Breweries Ltd.
